Charles Arlen Laurence, age 86, passed away on April 28, 2022. He was born on February 24, 1936, to Sherman S. Laurence and Maudie Mae (Frost) in Athens, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Glenn Arlen Laurence; grandson, Nathan Joshua Laurence.
Charles retired after 25 years of service with Sears. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and selling his fresh produce around the square for many years. He enjoyed cooking competitions and cooking for his family. He also loved visiting with family and friends and talking about "the good ole days".
Survivors include his wife, Nelda Faye Laurence; daughter, Shelia Vandiver; grandchildren, Crystal McDonald Koller, Roy Elliott and wife Brandy Schultz, Johnny Elliott and wife Angela; great grandchildren, Dylon Joshua Koller, Christian Lane Koller, Charlton Lee Schultz, Garrett Ray Elliott, Grayson Ripp Elliott; one great great grandson, Evan Jace Koller.
