Roman J. Malkowski, 81, of Pigeon, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at his home. Roman was born Aug. 18, 1937, in Caro, the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Sehn) Malkowski. He was united in marriage with the former Devona Kile on May 10, 1969, at the Baptist Church in Clifford. Roman was a farmer and employed with Lexalite, Thumb Plastic, and numerous trailer manufacturing companies. Never one to particularly care for sports, he loved to polka, pick huckleberries, do jigsaw puzzles, and woodworking. Roman loved living "up north", and was always willing to help other people, especially his family.

Roman is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Devona Malkowski; two children and their spouses, Valerie Malkowski and her husband, Brandon Bursick, of Caseville, Keith Malkowski and his wife, Kara, of Midland; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Tweedie of Florida, Genevieve Middleton and her husband, Roy, of Mayville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, Frederick and Leon Malkowski; and three sisters, Hope Wisniewski, Helen Malkowski Yuhas and Berniece Caswell.

In keeping with Roman's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. The family was assisted with these arrangements by the Ransford Collon Funeral Home of Caro. Friends may share memories, thoughts and prayers online at www.RansfordCollon.com.
