James L. Ulrich, 58, of 1524 County Road 1950N died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Born Jan. 20, 1945, in rural Roanoke to David R. and Wilma Kennell Ulrich, he married Loretta M. Martin on Jan. 29, 1965, in Roanoke. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Washburn; three sons, Randall (and Connie) of Roanoke, and Dale (and Jeanette) and Eric (and Jenny), both of Washburn; one daughter, Cindy (and Stanley) Zoss of Roanoke; one brother, Virgil (and Dottie) of Lacon; and two sisters, Janice Ulrich of Washburn and Velda (and Leonard) Kennell of Benson.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He farmed in the Washburn area since 1965. He also worked for Banta Elevator in Lowpoint from 1970 to 1980 and owned Ulrich Repair in Washburn since 1980.

He was a member of North Linn Mennonite Church in Roanoke, where he served as a trustee.

Burial will be in Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery in Roanoke.
