Mrs. J.B. Bathgate reports the death of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Gertrude Slack, who died Thursday at her home in Richmond, after a 3 months illness. She was born near Knoxville, July 25, 1874, and was a lifetime resident of Ray county. She was the daughter of Pryor and Lydia Kindcaid VanBebber. Her husband, James P. Slack, two brothers and one sister survive. Services were held Friday with burial in the Knoxville cemetery.
