Stan was an amazing man, one of a kind; proud, successful, adventurous and always loved a challenge. He had many passions; hunting, trapshooting, flying, golf, traveling in his plane and then the RV, Purdue basketball and football and of course his family and friends.
Stan was the oldest of five children and was preceded in death by his parents, Charles I. Kenny and Edna (Newton) Kenny; two brothers, Bub and Bill; and sister, Kathy. He was raised on the family farm with an awesome work ethic which followed him through his life.
Stan married Darlene Patsy LaGue on October 31, 1953, who he resided with prior to his passing. They spent over 67 years together.
Stan joined the Indiana State Police in 1955, retiring in 1978 after serving as a trooper and a detective for the department. He then became an entrepreneur getting into the Wendy's business. He also continued farming and flew his Cessna 210 around the country. He occasionally would show up in Utah to see his daughter. So many fun and memorable times.
Stan and Darlene had two children, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a younger brother.
Our hearts are broken and we will miss Stan so much but will keep all of our precious memories close to our hearts.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909 with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Kenny Cemetery on County Road 4530 South in Lafayette, IN.
