Kathryn Sue Shearer, born on November 30, 1948 in Lafayette, IN, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 17, 2021 in The Woodlands, TX.

The youngest of five children, Kathy adored her four older brothers and growing up in the family farmhouse in Lafayette, IN. An excellent student, cheerleader and Bobbie Brooks model, she graduated from Southwestern High School and attended Purdue University, majoring in mathematics. It was there that she met her husband, Robert Shearer, and together they had three beautiful children, whom she loved with all her heart.

Her years as a young mother were filled with adventure as she raised her family in many different countries, including Venezuela, Trinidad, Guatemala, Peru, Columbia and Indonesia, always creating a beautiful home and new memories, meeting new friends and supporting her husband as an electrical engineer in the oil and gas industry.

Kathy was an accomplished golfer, winning many club tournaments throughout the years, a talented seamstress, creating beautiful items for her family, including drapery and treasured nursery decor as well as gorgeous needlepoint gifts and stockings for her grandchildren. She was an active member of the craft circle at Christ Church United Methodist in The Woodlands, creating an abundance of beautiful handmade items to support church missions. Kathy was an avid sports fan, whether cheering in the stands for her children and grandchildren or watching her beloved Astros, she never missed a game. She was also a voracious reader and talented cook. Future family holidays will not be the same without her amazing ambrosia and delicious baked treats. Kathy showed her loved in a variety of ways through her many talents and her family will miss each of these expressions tremendously.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edna Kenny; and two brothers, Charles and Bill Kenny.

She is survived by her husband; three children; eight grandchildren; two brothers; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Kathryn loved them all dearly and was very proud of each and every one.

Her family will miss her deeply, but Kathy had a strong faith, and it was her faith that gave her courage these past few months as she fought her illness. She never wavered in accepting the plans the Lord had for her and they take comfort that she is now wrapped in His loving arms.
