A Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Henry R. Garcie, 78, will be held at St. Catherine's of Siena Catholic Church, Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Father James McLelland, Pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery, Meriwether Road.
The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath's Southside Funeral Home, Tuesday, August 17, 2004 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a vigil service beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Garcie was born May 21, 1926 in Zwolle, LA to the late Dora and Louise Garcie. He entered into rest Monday, August 16, 2004 in Shreveport, LA. Mr. Garcie was a retired welder. He served as president of the Men's Club, Usher and Eucharistic Minister at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
Mr. Garcie was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary Elaine (Garcie) Hawkins and brothers, Earl Garcie, Hubie Garcie, Lee Garcie and Tom Garcie.
His memory is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years; a daughter and son; 3 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; a sister; nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends; all of whom adored him.
