Dixie Mae Peacock, 88 of Seymour, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Wichita Falls.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Red Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastview Cemetery in Vernon under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Dixie was born March 7, 1934 in Wichita Falls to Jesse James and Fannie Mae Snyder Church. She was a graduate of Seymour High School and attended Midwestern State University. Dixie married Don Morris Peacock on July 14, 1951 at her parent's home in Seymour. The couple farmed and ranched in Baylor and Knox Counties. Dixie was a member of the Red Springs Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, worked with the R.A.'s and G.A.'s and was an active member of the church choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Morris Peacock; 2 sons, Wayne Peacock and Gary Peacock; a great grandson, Layne Day and her 4 sisters, Alma Hicks, Judy Starr, Patsy Lassiter and Margie Adams.

Survivors include her son, Larry and Cynthia Peacock of Cypress, Texas; 2 daughters-in-law, Lisa Peacock of Seymour and Nancy Peacock of Jennings, LA; a sister, Doris Cooper of Dallas; a brother-in-law – Grady Hicks of Seymour; 3 grandchildren, Travis Peacock, Janis Day and Kami Umana; a great grandson, Ethan Day and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
