Elizabeth "Betty" Sharpe Saunders, went to be the Lord on May 23, 2022. She was born in Middleburg, Florida on June 15, 1925. She was married to Clyde Oliver Saunders in Middleburg, Florida on December 22, 1939. After moving to Jacksonville, Florida four daughters were born. They then moved to Marietta, Georgia and then to Atlanta, Georgia where they raised their children. During her time in Atlanta she became the hostess for Davison's Tea Room. She also joined the Loring Heights Garden Club and became known for her beautiful floral arrangements with many proud ribbons. The family the Loring Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. After Retirement came, they moved to Rome, Georgia in 1989 and became active members teaching and supporting the choir at Garden Lakes Baptist Church. She and her husband were married for 70 years when he passed on October 13, 2010. Betty Saunders is survived by a brother, four daughters, ten grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Garden Lakes Baptist Church Saturday May 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Dr. Jimmy Gentry and Rev. Mike Woods officiating.
Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Gentlemen serving as pallbearers for Betty Saunders are her sons-in-law and grandsons.
