Lloyd O. Atkinson, son of E. and Emma Atkinson, was born Feb. 14, 1892 in Sabetha. He died Jan. 31, 1979. He was united in marriage to Hazel Tobie of Oneida, Kansas, Feb. 18, 1915. To this union were born 7 children. Mary Hegreberg of Phoeniz, AZ; Elmer of Redding, CA; Elva Osborn of Las Cruces, NM; Rachel Thomas of Peoria, IL; Ruth Harney of Anerson, IN; John of Oklahoma City, OK; and Dale of Springfield, VA.
Lloyd was a farmer all his life in and around Sabetha. In 1949 he and his family left the farm and moved into Sabetha.
Besides his wife and children, he is survived by 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at the Popkess Mortuary on Feb. 3, 1979, with the Rev. Elmer Atkinson, son of Lloyd officiating. Interment was made on the family plot at the Sabetha Cemetery.
