She was born in Whitehead, Alabama on November 13, 1926 to Ollie Englesby and Viney Viola (Lindsey) Bills.
At the age of 11 her family moved to the Mississippi Delta where they were Sharecroppers and made Ruleville, MS their home. In her late teens, during the beginning of WWII, she moved to Mobile, Alabama and worked in a factory to support the war. After a short period in Mobile, Mary, also known as Flo and her sister Virginia moved back to Ruleville and then to Northern Indiana, this is where she met the love of her Life, Mahlon Dale Brindley, of Bristol Indiana.
Mary and Mahlon were married September 2, 1949. They were married for 67 years until Mahon's passing in 2016.
They raised four children, Dale Duane (Patricia) of Granger, Richard Lynn (Vickie) of Bristol, Glenn Allan-deceased in 2017, and Mary Viola Brindley Niehaus (Al) of Santa Rosa Beach, FL. They have four grandchildren, Jason Brindley, Ryan Brindley, Morgan Holdnak Pixley, Richard Holdnak and five great grandchildren.
The love of Mary's life was having a home for her children, neighborhood kids and friends. Many weekend mornings were spent around the roundtable with homemade biscuits, bacon, and eggs. Her door was always open with an outpouring of Love.
We would like to add a special thank you to her caregivers and Goshen Hospice, who made Mary's dream come true.
Her final wish was to pass in her home of 72 plus years. You all are the Greatest!
A graveside service will be on April 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bristol, Indiana, followed with a Celebration of Life at the family home.
In lieu of Flowers, the family would appreciate any memorial donations be given to the Goshen Hospice.
Miller-Stewart Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
