Dollie Bills Dick, 84, of Madison, Mississippi, formerly of East Prairie, Missouri, died March 22, 2017, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Mississippi.

She was born August 7, 1932, in Rogersville, Alabama, to the late Ollie Englesby and Viola Lindsey Bills. She graduated from Delta State University Teachers College in Cleveland, Mississippi. Her teaching career began in Anniston, Missouri during the mid 1950s, and in 1960, she began teaching in the R-2 School System in East Prairie, Missouri teaching until her retirement in 1992. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in East Prairie for many years before moving to Mississippi, where she became a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison, Mississippi. She was active in Sunday School, New Journey, American Cancer Society and was a sponsor of several school organizations. Dollie was the epitome of a graceful, southern lady.

On June 2, 1956, she married Donald Dick, who preceded her in death on December 10, 2005.

Dollie is survived by three daughters, Donna Dick Quertermous of Mandeville, Louisiana, Dianna Dick Sessums of New Orleans, Louisiana and Denise Dick (Steve) Higginbotham of Madison, Mississippi; one brother, William Bills (Verda) of Ruleville, Mississippi; and one sister, Mary “Flo” Brindley of Bristol, Indiana. Also surviving are three grandsons, Dennis Quertermous of Birmingham, Alabama, and Bennett Higginbotham and Wells Higginbotham, both of Madison, Mississippi.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Marlon Chester Bills, Burford Elree Bills, Ollie Englesby Bills Jr and Franklin “Deloy" Bills; and three sisters, Virginia White King, Evelyn Davis Smith and Elizabeth “Betty” Jenkins.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday, March 24th, 2017 and 1-2 p.m. Saturday, March 25th, 2017 at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Missouri. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017, in the Shelby Chapel, with Bro. Ted Wimberley and Bro. George White officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

A memorial service will also be held Monday, March 27th at 10 a.m. at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison, MS.
