He was born Sept. 20, 1933, in Cooperton, to Henry and Lucille (Williams) Buchanan. Pat served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Oma Lynn Sommers on Nov. 27, 1955, at the Chapel in the Holy City, Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge.
Pat was a champion Hampshire Sheep breeder in a multi state area and had operated the Carnegie Livestock Auction for many years and farmed all his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Oma Lynn, of the home; one son, J. Todd Buchanan, Cooperton, Oklahoma; two daughters, Micah Treadwell and husband Buddy, Frederick, Oklahoma; and Nell Jennings, Roosevelt, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Ethan and Paige Treadwell and Garret, Gates and Gatlin Jennings; two brothers and their wives, Stanley and Midge Buchanan, Oklahoma City; and Chester and Barbara Buchanan, Oklahoma City; one sister and her husband, Peggy and Wesley Albright, Mountain View, Oklahoma; and one sister-in-law, Susie Buchanan, Meers, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Cooperton Community Center, with Ardron Hinton and Mike Hinton officiating. Casketbearers were Dwight Peterson, Gary Bullen, David Chain, Odie Lee Hopkins, Junior Vanderpol and Harold Moad.
Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Cooperton, Kiowa County, Oklahoma under direction of Hackney-Gish Funeral Home, Hobart, Oklahoma.
Memorials may be made to the Roosevelt Church of Christ or the Spring Hill Cemetery Association.
