THOMAS "STANLEY" BUCHANAN

Thomas "Stanley" Buchanan, age 83, passed away Monday, September 10, 2007, at his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.

He was born January 11, 1924 in Cooperton, Kiowa County, Oklahoma, to Thomas Henry and Jenny Lucille (Williams) Buchanan.

He was united in marriage to Margaret Gore on March 8, 1969. Stanley served his country as a tail gunner in the 9th Airforce, 387th Bomb Group, 557th Squadron in France. His love for cattle led him to a career as a "cow trader".

He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Midge" Gore Buchanan of the home; three daughters, Mary Beth Buchanan, Hobart, Oklahoma; Jennie Kay Buchanan, Altus, Oklahoma; and Patsy Wise, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six sons, Hal Tom Buchanan, Altus, Oklahoma; Joe Bruce Buchanan, Altus, Oklahoma; Larry Leroy Buchanan, Sulphur, Oklahoma; Ricky Joe Buchanan, Sulphur, Oklahoma; James Buchanan, Mustang, Oklahoma; and Thomas Stanley "Steve" Buchanan, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by one brother Chester Lee Buchanan, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and one sister, Peggy Lou Albright, Mountain View, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Henry Buchanan in 1982 and Jenny Lucille Buchanan in 1996, two brothers, Rex B. Buchanan in 1997 and Patrick Henry Buchanan in 2003.

Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2007, at Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
