"Alfred B. Clem died at his home 1607 Polk street, Monday evening at seven o'clock of a complication of ailments following an illness of ten days. The body was taken to the Gordon Funeral Home from which place funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. George E. Purdy. Burial will be in Edgewood.

Mr. Clem was born in Sullivan County, Mo., August 10, 1862. He was married December 21, 1884, to Emily J. Fuller, who is the only surviving relative. The family moved to Chillicothe 17 years ago and he had since made his home here." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, May 17, 1932
