"Mrs. Elizabeth Clem, an aged resident of Chillicothe, died at her home on Dickenson street Monday afternoon at 4:50 of old age.

Mrs. Clem was a native of Kentucky, having been born in that state on January 29, 1820. She was the daughter of John Arrasmith, who came to Missouri when she was but a small child, with his family and settled in Marion County. She was married to Albert W. Mills of Hannibal on April 17, 1839, and to them were born four children. Mr. Mills died in 1850. Mrs. Mills moved with her parents to Sullivan County where in 1861 she was married to E. Clem, a prosperous farmer. Mr. and Mrs. Clem moved to their farm two and a half miles east of Chillicothe in 1870, where by industry and a thorough knowledge of science of farming, they prospered. In 1890 they moved to Chillicothe. Mr. Clem died rather suddenly on July 9, 1891. His widow continued to reside in her home on Dickenson street until the time of her death.

Her remains will be laid to rest by the side of those of her husband in the City cemetery.

Deceased leaves four children who are John H. Mills of Port Townsend, Wash., Alfred B. Clem of Chillicothe, Mrs. Elizabeth White of Chula and Mrs. S. F. Mills of this city." The Chillicothe Constitution." The Chillicothe Constitution, January 24, 1901
