"Mrs. Sarah A. Mills died at her home on South Walnut street Tuesday morning at seven o'clock of cancer of the stomach. She had been in poor health for the past year but she was taken suddenly worse about three weeks ago when it was thought she could not live more than a day or two. Her children were notified of her dangerous condition and were here for four days when a change for the better was noticed in her condition and the children returned to their homes with the exception of Mrs. Mary Triplett, who lives in Milan, who was with her at the time of her death.

Her maiden name was Sarah Elizabeth [sic] Clem, only daughter of Manuel Clem, an old well-known resident of this county. She was born in Sullivan county, Missouri, October 28, 1846. She made her home in that county until after her marriage to J. R. Mills, which occurred in 1867. They resided in Sullivan county until the death of her husband in 1884. She then moved to Chillicothe, where she had since resided.

Five children survive her as follows: Mrs. Mary Triplett of Milan, Mrs. Sanford Smith and Earl Mills of this city, Mrs. Agnes Troeger of Jackson township, and Claude of Muskogee, Okla." The Chillicothe Constitution, June 28, 1906
