Her maiden name was Sarah Elizabeth [sic] Clem, only daughter of Manuel Clem, an old well-known resident of this county. She was born in Sullivan county, Missouri, October 28, 1846. She made her home in that county until after her marriage to J. R. Mills, which occurred in 1867. They resided in Sullivan county until the death of her husband in 1884. She then moved to Chillicothe, where she had since resided.
Five children survive her as follows: Mrs. Mary Triplett of Milan, Mrs. Sanford Smith and Earl Mills of this city, Mrs. Agnes Troeger of Jackson township, and Claude of Muskogee, Okla." The Chillicothe Constitution, June 28, 1906
