He was born March 11, 1956, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Hilda Rae Williams Bruce Gammon and John William "J.W." Bruce. He enjoyed going to flea markets, his animals, and spending time with his family. He attended Owensboro Faith Fellowship.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Thomas Wicks, and his sister, Virginia Diane Cunningham.
Survivors include his companion, Matthew Beatty of Utica, KY; his sisters, Shirley (Billy) Duvall and Lisa Faye Bruce Whitfield, both of Madisonville, KY; his granddaughter, Leslie Wicks of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bishop Robert Randolph officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
