Joe B. Joyce, age 95, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Born April 24, 1926, in Golden Pond, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Bailey Joyce and Irene Shaw Joyce. He reitred from the Army Corps of Engineers as an inspector of dams and levees. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the United States Army. Joe was a dedicated member of Hurricane Baptist Church, where he served as trustee and assistant treasurer along with serving as trustee for Hurricane Cemetery. He roofed houses with his wife, read his bible a total of 7 times, and enjoyed working on his neighbors farms. He loved to play Sudoku and work Jigsaw Puzzles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Nina Joyce; son-in-law, Jose Carrion; and grandson, Jason Meranda; three brothers, Robert Joyce, Leonard Joyce, Eura Joyce; three sisters, Mamie Taylor, Clara Smith, Pansy Foree.
He is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Greg) Bruce of Cadiz and Sandy Carrion of Greencastle, Pa.; three grandchildren, Christina Walker, Grady (Deanna) Romblad, Tracy (David) Leidy; eleven great grandchildren, Samantha Hulte, Ariel Meranda, Autumn Meranda, Kyle Walker, Paige Klouser, Megan Leidy, Connor Romblad, Shane (Natasha) Klouser, Chance Klouser, Luke Leidy, Hannah Rombald; twelve great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Viola Joyce of Tenn.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2022. Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Burial will follow with full military honors in Hurricane Cemetery in Cadiz.
