"Mrs. Shirley Lee Grover, 76, of 5023 N. Garfield, died Thursday at the home. She was born in Lawson, Mo., and lived here 50 years. Mrs. Grover was a power machine operator for the former Dean-Jones Manufacturing Company 26 years before she retired 14 years ago. She was a member of the Englewood Baptist Church. She leaves a son, Lee B. Grover of St Joseph; a daughter, Emma L. Montgomery of 4939 N. Brooklyn; a brother, James Bassett of Cameron, Mo.; two sisters, Sibyl Ross of Hume, Mo., and Mrs. Letta Skinner of 1235 Bellaire; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel; burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, June 20, 1975
