Wylie S. Bassett, 65, a resident of Fresno for the past 25 years, died this morning in his home at 1280 North Eleventh Street. Until his retirement last December, Bassett worked for the F.P. Schutz Painting Company. He moved here from his native Clay County, Mo., in 1937. During World War I, he served with the infantry. He was a member of the Veterans of World War I and attended the Bethany Church. Bassett and his wife, Eulah, observed their 43rd wedding anniversary in August.
Besides his widow, he is survived by a son, Dorsey of Stockton; two brothers, James and Floyd Bassett of Kansas City, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Shirley Grover, Mrs. Sybil Ross and Mrs. Letta Skinner, all of Kansas City, and three grandchildren.
