He was born to Claudy and Velma Main in Rich Hill, Missouri. He was raised in Oregon and was a resident of Stanislaus County for 54 years.
Oran was married for almost 66 years to the love of his life, Maxine, who predeceased him in February of 2004. One of his daughters, Donna Golding, also predeceased him in July of 1994.
Oran was a lumberman, business owner, manager of Copeland Lumber Yard, wood craftsman, cattle rancher, and walnut farmer. He was also a devout Christian with many years of very active participation and leadership in the Waterford Community Baptist Church and Denair Friend's Church.
''Dad'' (or Papa'') is survived by his daughter, Pat Coons (Don), two sons, Randy Main (Kathy) and Ray Main (Kathy), as well as 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
He was the world's greatest role model for many who extended far beyond just his family. He was a kind and generous man, loved by all.
Visitation for Mr. Main will take place from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 17th with a chapel service at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 18, both to be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe, Hughson, CA. with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
