Charley Pitts Longacre was a rural mail carrier for many years and very active in the community. He was a founding member and president of Sac-Osage Electric Cooperative in El Dorado Springs, Mo. And a Board member of KAMO who supplied power to the states of Kansas, Arkansaw, Missouri and Oklahoma with an office in Vinita, Oklahoma.
Charley first married Mabel Janetta Hughes on June 17, 1901. She passed away from an infection in 1912 leaving 3 small children.
He next married Mary Elizabeth Daniels in 1919, she passed away in 1953.
Charley died in the Oddfellows Hospital in Liberity Missouri of prostrate cancer after a stay of 2 and a half months.

Charley was the grandson of Benjamin Longacre, the first Longacre to enter Missouri. Charley was the forth great grandson of Anders Peterson Longacre and Magdalena Cock Longacre, the first Longacres born in America.
