Margaret Gibson was born in Canada June 13, 1828. She was married to Isaac Bailey June 8, 1850. They came to Monticello in 1857 after a short stay here they moved to Orrock, and afterward to Big Lake returning to Monticello about 30 years ago, where Mr. Bailey died July 30, 1896. Since her husband's death she has made her home with her daughter Mrs. Sawyer. Mrs. Bailey was the mother of eight children five of whom survive: Mrs.Emma Sawyer and Gibson Bailey of Monticello, Mrs. Eva Farris of Becker, Mrs. Lizzie Kenney of N. Dakota and Fred Bailey of Pacific Grove Cal. Mrs. Bailey since her husband's death has been in poor health being confined to the house most of the time and much of the time to the bed. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon and was conducted by Eld. J. Ridley of the Advent Christian Church of which she had been a member for almost 40 years. A large congregation assembled at the church to show their respect for the deceased and to sympathize with the bereaved family.
