She grew to young womanhood in Minnesota, receiving religious instruction in her home and early in life affiliated with the church, remaining a true member throughout her life.
On September 2, 1875 she was united in marriage to Luther Edgar Farris, who passed away on August 25, 1929. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Farris, three sons and two daughters, whose names are John, Elwin, Clifford, Lillian, and Margaret.
After her husband's death, Mrs. Farris came to Kalispell to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Lillian English, who is well known in this community, having been a teacher in the public schools here for several years before her mother's coming and having continued in that capacity to the present time.
She passed away late Saturday afternoon, June 26, 1943.
Those from outside the city who were present for the funeral are Mr. and Mrs. L.G. James, Mrs. Farris' daughter and son-in-law, whose home is in Waseca, Minnesota.
