Jean Haight, 90, a lifelong resident of Red Hook, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in Kingston.

Born on June 22, 1931, in Rhinebeck, NY, she was the daughter of Anna Teator. She is predeceased by her first husband and the father of her children, Benjamin Flock. Jean is also predeceased by her second husband, William Haight.

For 25 years, Jean worked in admissions at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. Later, she was a customer service representative at the Hudson Valley Mall. Jean enjoyed shopping, penny socials, dancing, and spending time with friends and family. She particularly enjoyed community trips whether they were to the Saratoga Race Track, Ottawa, Ireland, or Florida. She also relished day trips, often taking long drives on one of her favorite roads, US-44 in Connecticut. Jean's secret to living a long, healthy life was walking nearly two miles every day from her home to the center of Red Hook and back. She treasured the community in which she lived, whether playing bingo at the community center, eating dinner at the Red Hook diner, or reminiscing about her years at Red Hook High School. She loved to bake oatmeal cookies and pies of all kinds, preferably for her grandchildren who were a point of pride in her life.

Jean was a longtime parishioner of St. Christopher's Parish in Red Hook.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Jeffreys and husband, Tom, of Milan, NY; her son, Benjamin Flock and wife, Amy, of S. Glastonbury, CT; her daughter, Karen Lavoie and husband, Kevin, of Round Rock, TX; her grandchildren, Adam Jeffreys, Shannon, Jackie, Ashley, Kaleigh, and Jenna Flock, Megan Weaver, Kelly Lambert, and Melissa Hoines; her great grandchildren, Isabel, and Ian Hoines, Beckham, and Juliette Lambert, and Willa Weaver; and her sisters, Marion Van Wagner, Betty Dunham, and Leona Schelling.

Calling hours will be 3 pm to 6 pm, Friday, January 28, 2022 at Burnett and White Funeral Home, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am, Saturday, January 29, 2022 at St. Christopher's Church, 7411 S. Broadway, Red Hook.

Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
