Early Life: Maurine was born June 26, 1932, in Nampa, Idaho, to Leroy Charles and Leta "Bernice" Field Chadwick, the oldest of their five children. She graduated from Nampa High School in 1950.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: She met James Vincent "Jim" Allen while he was still on active duty with the United States Air Force; they were married September 17, 1951. When he was discharged from the Air Force they settled in Seattle, Washington, where their four children were born. In 1965, they moved to Utah where Maurine worked to support Jim while he finished his higher education.
❦ After raising four children, she attended Brigham Young University, earning an associate degree in library science. She used her degree to become the Media Center Specialist at Northridge Elementary School, where she worked for many years. When the newly built Rocky Mountain Elementary School was finished, Maurine was given the opportunity to set up and run the library, which she did until her retirement.
❦ As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Maurine held many callings as a leader and a teacher; she was always involved with music in the Church, both singing in the choir and as chorister. After Jim's death in 2008, Maurine also devoted her time as a tour guide in the Conference Center of the Church in Salt Lake City.
❦ In 2015, she sold her home in Orem, Utah, and moved into Treeo Independent Living Apartments where she met Gordon H. Dunn, retired physics professor from the University of Colorado in Boulder. They shared a love of music and dancing and were married in 2016. Maurine Bernice Chadwick Allen Dunn passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She was 89.

Survived By: Her husband, Gordon H. Dunn, of Orem, UT; her four children: Elayne Boyce (Douglas), Tina Barnes (Ethan), Russell Allen (Barbara), Glen Allen; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; her sister, Charlotte Hall, of Orem, UT; and brother, Terry Chadwick (Alayne), of Idaho Falls, ID.
Predeceased By: Her first husband, James V. Allen; brother, Ron Chadwick; sister, Joann Haws; and daughter-in-law, Tawnya Finch Allen.
