The community was greatly shocked when on August 4th it was announced that Susan A., wife of Daniel Wentling, died very suddenly. The deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kline. She was born on October 26, 1856. She had been in her usual good health and only a few days before, had prepared dinner for her four children and their families. This being the first time the entire family was all together in many years. The deceased was a faithful member of St. Paul's Reformed Church. Her unusual cheerful and sunny disposition endeared her to all with whom she came in contact. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn the following children, Mrs. John M. Shay, of Knox, Mrs. Henry Dunkle, of Foxburg, Mrs. Willis Weeter, of Knox, and Ira Wentling, of Augusta, Kansas. Funeral services were held from her late home Friday afternoon, August 6th, in charge of her pastor, Rev. I. G. Snyder. Interment was made in St. Paul's Cemetery.

Daniel W. Wentling, one of the best and most highly honored citizens of Beaver Township, within the bounds of which he was born and made his home during his entire lifetime, passed away last Tuesday, April 12*, 1927, at 2:30 o'clock a.m. Seventy-six years ago, Mr. Wentling was born, the son of Phillip and Anna (Long) Wentling. He was united in marriage to Susanna Kline, who preceded him in death on August 4, 1926. He is survived by the following children: Ira Wentling, of Augusta, Kansas, Mrs. John Shay, of Knox RD 2, Mrs. Anna Dunkle, of Foxburg, and Mrs. Blanche Weeter, of Knox. One sister also survives, Mrs. Cope, of Kentucky; and three brothers, Adam and Reuben Wentling, of Knox, and David Wentling, of Kansas City. The deceased was an upright Christian gentleman who possessed the confidence and high regard of all who knew him. He was almost a lifelong member of the Reformed Church and was devoted in his loyalty to the same. The funeral services were held at his late home, being conducted by Rev. I. G.
