Mrs. Lora Maybelle Anderson Shore, age 93, of North Wilkesboro, widow of John Harry Shore died Saturday, December 13, 2003 at Avante at Wilkesboro.

Funeral services will be held at Fishing Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Shore was born in Wilkes County, September 23, 1910, to Harrison and Caroline Love Anderson. She was a member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Shore attended elementary school at Mrs. Mamie Barber Private School for Young Ladies. She graduated from North Wilkesboro High School and continued her education at Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory. Mrs. Shore graduated with honors and became a teacher. She taught school for 12 years and then was asked to serve as principal at many community schools. She and her husband became successful poultry farmers for many years before retiring.

Mrs. Shore is survived bytwo daughters, Paget S. Anders of North Wilkesboro and Dona S. Baucom of Matthews; two sisters, Vecie Dancy and Christine Parker both of North Wilkesboro; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
