In her younger years she worked as a secretary for hospitals in Garden City, KS, Lamar, CO. and a short time in California.
On November 7, 196 5 she married Robert "Bob" Schneweis at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dodge City, Kansas. She was a homemaker as well as she worked with Bob at Schneweis Tax Accounting for several years.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Daughters of Isabella both in Dodge City, Kansas. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and loved spending time with family.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Bob; three sons, Ron (Jerelyn) Schneweis, Alan (Paula) Schneweis and Gary (Rhnae) Schneweis all of Dodge City, KS.; 2 daughters, Jill (Jason) Mead of McPherson,KS. and Stacey (Todd) Hamilton of Ensign, KS.; 19 grandchildren: Zach (Amanda) Schneweis, LukeSchneweis, Gentry (Tyler) Peterson, Josh Schneweis, Emily (Cody) Davis, Matt Schneweis and Fiance, Claire Leis, Logan, Brady and Riley Sherraden, Gavin, Brooklyn, Kristin, Ethan and Megan Schneweis, Eli and Ella Mead, Ryan, Tanner and Taylyn Hamilton; 6 great granddaughters: Aspyn, Autumn, Geneva, Sadie, Avery and Paige; 3 sisters, Catherine Brungardt of Garden City, KS., Alice (Larry) Craig of Lubbock, TX. and Martha Strecker of Hays, KS.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Shelley Ann Schneweis and a brother, Gil Ackerman.
Vigil services followed by Daughter of Isabella rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thurs. Jan. 13, 2022 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Lady of Our Guadalupe Cathedral with Father Wesley Schawe presiding.
