Martha Strecker, 82, died Friday, July 21, 2023 at The Willow House in Hays, Kansas. She was born January 9, 1941 at Spearville, Kansas the daughter of Charles Christopher and Elizabeth Mary (Schawe) Ackerman. She was a graduate of Windthorst High School and a lifetime area resident. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Cathedaral of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Altar Society as well as a longtime volunteer at Manor of the Plains both in Dodge City. She enjoyed word find puzzles, playing golf, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

On May 26, 1962 she married Richard Strecker at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Windthorst, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2020.

Survivors include: 2 sons, Dave and wife Roni, Minneola, KS. and Steve and wife Janna, Garden City, KS.; 2 daughters, Jan Stauth and husband Shannon, Hays, KS. and Karen Moeder and husband Scot, Great Bend, KS.; 2 sisters, Cathy Brungardt and Alice Craig, brother and sisters-in-law, Sandy Ackerman, Bob Schneweis, Sharon Strecker, Jerry and Judy Strecker, Cathy Strecker, Vern Strecker, Maurice and Kathy Strecker, Norbert Strecker, Joe and Linda Strecker, John and Mert Strecker and Mark and Jackie Strecker; 11 grandchildren, Michaela (Kaden) Strecker, Brenna Strecker, Andrew (Shannon) Burkhart, Tanner (Katie) Burkhart, Taryn Stauth, Braden Stauth, Cody (Kristie) Strecker, Ryan (Madison) Strecker, Megan (Steven) Crain, Joseph Moeder, and Mathew Moeder and 8 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Gil Ackerman and a sister, Erma Schneweis, father and mother-in-law, Henry and Josephine Strecker, brothers-in-law, Larry Craig, Bob Strecker, Junior Strecker and "Little" Bill Strecker and sisters-in-laws, Teresa and Sonja Strecker.

Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, KS. and Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25,2023 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City with Fr. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Windthorst, KS.

The family suggests memorials to the Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund or Windthorst Heritage, Inc. both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Avenue, Dodge City, KS. 67801.
