In the 1850 US Census, District 58, Matilda is listed with Aunt Clarrisa White, Aunt Arabella White together with her Grandmother Rebecca White who was born in Maryland. Jim Follin, a great great grandson speculates that Matilda should have been listed as Matilda McDaniel in the 1850 US Census, but because of a clerical error on the part of the census taker, she was enumerated as Matilda White.
Clarissa White 49
Matilda White 20
Arabela White 46
Rebecca White 86
Jim Follin's further research shows that Matilda McDaniel's mother was named Matilda White who according to marriage records of Somerset Co, MD married Peter McDaniel on 27 Feb 1828 prior to Matilda's birth on 6 Dec 1929.
According to Shenandoah County, VA Marriage Records, Matilda is registered as Matilda McDaniel when she marries Daniel Sine on 26 Dec 1850 just about 6 months after the 1850 US Census. See the Shenandoah County Virginia Genwebsite:

Groom: Sine, Daniel
Married
26 Dec 1850
Bride: McDaniel, Matilda
Affidavit of Martin Wetzell
Both Daniel and Matilda did not declare who their parents were when they registered to be married. If you will notice above the marriage license was accompanied by an Affidavit of Martin Wetzell.
In the 1860 Census, Matilda Sine and her husband Daniel Sine who were married in 1850 have two children now 8 years old and 5 years old and enumerated with them in the same household are Matilda's Aunts Clarissa and Arabella. Because the handwriting of the census taker was difficult to read, there are two errors in the transcription of the 1860 Census: first Daniel first name appears to be Danial and the family's last name Sine is incorrectly interpreted as Line . I have shown it below as it should be transcribed:
1860 US Census, Columbia Furnace, VA
Name Age
Daniel Sine 51

PLEASE NOTE: There was a newspaper clipping originally attached to this memorial (not attached by me) which showed Matilda's first name as Elizabeth, but according to the 1900 US Census her first name is Isabella M. Sine as shown above.
The death certificate for Matilda's son, Nelson Sine, lists the name of Nelson Sine's mother as Matilda White. It should be noted that this information was provided by Nelson's youngest son, Earl Sine. Thanks to Jim Follin for his help in explaining the confusion about Matilda's last name as shown above.
