TOMBSTONE READS "AGE 96 YEARS" but it appears he was actually born in Sep 1828 as explained below.
The 1850 US Census lists his age as 22 so he would have been born in 1828 and the 1900 US Census confirms this as Dec 1828.
Occupation Black Smith
Shenandoah County Marriage Records
Daniel Sine married Matilda McDaniel on 26 Dec 1850
OBITUARY
Feb. 17, 1921:
Edinburg Items. Daniel Sine of Columbia Furnace, one of
the oldest citizens of Shenandoah County, died Saturday
night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Bauserman, at
the great age of ninety five years. There has been some
uncertainty about his age. Some persons claimed that he
was 95, while others thought he was 100 years or more of
age. The above statement of his age was taken from the
register of the clerk's office of Shenandoah County in
which his birth is entered Aug. 9, 1829. He had lived all
his life at Columbia Furnace and for many years was the
leading blacksmith at that place. He leaves two sons,
Nelson and Gilmore Sine, and daughter, Mrs. Bauserman.
