Ella Emma (Goodwin) Steelman was the second born child from James Newton Goodwin and Martha Eudora "Dora' (Davis) Goodwin. She grew up around the Fox, Kensett and Mountain View areas of Arkansas. She met and married John Steelman on Feb. 2, 1924. They settled in Mountain View, Arkansas. After her husband passed, Elli as her nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews would call her would visit family members. She would at times make a bus trip to Indiana to see relatives that once lived in Arkansas. One of her favorite quotes to family children was to call them "grasshopper." She was wonderful to all those around her.
