Adam George Atkisson, 74, of Kenna passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at his home.
He was born July 25, 1947 at Romance, WV a son of the late George and Frances Thomas Atkisson. He retired from Kanawha County Schools after 35 years where he worked as bus driver and in the maintenance department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, working on the farm, crafts, dabbling in cooking and reading his Bible.
Adam is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wanda (Siders) Atkisson;daughter Dortha Pursley (Tracy); son George Atkisson (Kari); grandchildren Mikayla Degasperi (Chris), Morgan Richardson (Derek), Josh Atkisson and Lauren Atkisson; great-granddaughters, Quinn Richardson and Teagan Degasperi, who is on the way. He is also survived by sisters Ethel Sayre and Sybil Kiser.
In addition to his parents Adam was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters and 3 half-brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, January 3rd at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastors Darron Wines and Danny Beckner officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Comer-Atkisson Cemetery at Romance.
