Vernon was well known for his beautiful singing voice and for being able to whistle 3 part harmony. He ran a successful carpentry business for many years in Crescent and Enid Oklahoma.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Ellen Tarrant Allen, brothers Clyde Orville and Lloyd Gene Allen, and son Jeff Allen. He is survived by his children, son Steve Allen, daughter Joy Alexander and partner Kathy, son Von Allen and wife Chris, son Greg Allen and wife Cathy, grandchildren Ashley Allen and wife Brooke, Amy Allen Carrera and husband Carlos, Jenny Allen Foster and husband Lincoln, Jeremy Allen and wife Erin, Crystal Allen and her children, Mary Wells and husband Rusty, Christian Allen and wife Amy, Dyllan Schwenke, great grandchildren Logan Amanda, Waylon and Wyatt Foster, Aiden and Nieava Carerra, Braxton and Sadie Allen, Josie and Andrew Allen, Paige, Russell and Emmie Wells.
The family will be holding a memorial service after the holidays.
