Birth information per Scottish christening records and 1851 Scotland Census. Death certificate says b 24 Feb 1840, Darvel, East Ayrshire. Darvel is 6 km east of Galston. Christened 11 Mar 1839 Galston.

Immigrated with family to NB 1851-1856. 1901 Canada Census says 1853.
