She was the daughter and youngest of 6 children born to Isaac M. and Eliza King. She was briefly married to John E. Gaskill, and bore a son, Eldridge K., when she was 19. Apparently divorced soon after, she and her son lived with her parents at 336 Stacy Street in Burlington, NJ. In 1917 her son, Eldridge, marched off to war to fight with the United States Army during World War I. Hannah suffered the loss of her only child on an October day in 1918, when Eldridge died in France. Less then a month later, on November 11, 1918, the war would end. Unlike many mother's who lost sons during that war, Eldridge's remains were brought home in 1921, and buried in the family plot.

Hannah never remarried, and died in 1961. She lies buried with her parents and her heroic son.
