WILLIAM HENDRIX DIES
SERVICES HELD SATURDAY
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6th, at the Curryville Baptist Church for W. H. Hendrix. Rev. R. T. Dismuke of Wentzville officiated. Music was furnished by the choir who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden," accompanied by Mr. J. R. McCune at the organ.
William Henry Hendrix, son of William and Cecelia Dowell Hendrix, was born Sept. 19, 1868, in Pike County and passed away Feb. 4th at the Wilson-Pike Rest Home in Bowling Green, where he had been a patient one week. He was 85 years, four months and 16 days of age.
Sept. 18, 1899 he was united in marriage to Miss Zella Pearl Green. To this union one daughter was born. He was preceded in death by his wife who passed away in 1946, his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Jarvie Allison; two granddaughters, Mrs. Betty Stone of Louisiana and Mrs. Wilma Francis of Curryville; one great-granddaughter, Linda Stone; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Brown; two brothers, John Hendrix of Oklahoma and Dick Hendrix of Curryville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the Mt. Air Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Hendrix spent his entire life in Pike County and was engaged in farming except for seven years in West Virginia. Six years ago he moved to Curryville to reside.
Burial was in the Curryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: J. Renny Reading, Omar Thompson, J.E. Flansburg, Hal Cash, Howard Miller and Clyde Craig.
Mudd Funeral Home was in charge of sevices.
