John K. Johnson, 66, of East Moline, IL passed away Wednesday, October 20. 2021 at home surrounded by his family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. A Memorial service will be Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd. Visitation will be held prior from. 1:00 p.m. to 3:oo p.m. Memorials may be made out to the family. John was born in Moline, IL, the son of Clarence and Evelyn (Dorcey) Johnson. He married Christine Van Daele at Christ the King Church, Moline, IL on September 20, 1975. He had his own paint company, "Quality Painting", before then working at Builders Sales in Service. After that, John was a supervisor at the East Moline Library until his retirement in 2016. John was very family oriented and they were the most important aspect of hos life. He spent his time coaching his grandkids in various sports, singing, dancing, participating in outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, camping, boating, golfing with his son John and brother, Dave, hosting deck and pool parties at his home, and he loved his dog, Missy. John was an avid Hawkeyes fan and very proud to be an American Patriot. Survivors include his wife, Christine, East Moline, IL; children, Jamie Johnson, East Moline, Jessica Johnson, East Moline, IL, John (Dawn) Johnson, East Moline, IL; 8 grandchildren, Hailee (Mil), Aerianna, Tia, Keyana, Damion, Donovan, Lucy, and Jack; siblings, Ed (Barb) Johnson, FL, Kay Claeys, FL, Dave (Robin) Johnson, Coal Valley, IL; and a brother-in-law, Jon Edwards. John is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Johnson, his parents, Clarence and Evelyn Johnson, and siblings, Regina Edwards, Mike Johnson and Jack Johnson.
