OBIT: Ogden Standard Examiner 4 Jul 1939 " Early Resident of Huntsville will be Buried Friday...Mrs. Juliane Peterson Nielson, 80 widow of Jens Nielsen, pioneer Huntsville blacksmith, died late Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glenna N. Shurtliff, of 2042 Quincy, after a long illness.
Mrs. Nielsen was born in Randers, Denmark, March 27, 1859 to Jacob and Trena Petersen. She was converted to the LDS faith in 1872 and came to Utah in 1876 with her sister and grandmother. she lived in Ogden for a few years, and following her marriage to Mr. Nielsen Jan 1 1877, in Logan LDS temple she moved to Huntsville where she had resided until about 3 months ago. Mr. Nielsen died in Huntsville in 1931.
She was a member of the presidency of the LDS Relief society in Huntsville ward from 1893 to 1915, and had been active in genealogical work in the Salt lake City and Logan Temples.
In addition to Mrs. Shurtliff, the following sons and daughters survive: Mrs. Josephine Burrows of Huntsville; Henry J. Nielsen of Arimo, Idaho; David J. Nielsen of New york City; Mrs. Carl Garff and Mrs. Berletta Cunningham of Ogden; 22 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted by Bishop Wilmer C. Jensen Friday at twelve fifteen p.m. in Huntsville ward chapel with David O. McKay of the first Presidency of the church as speaker. Interment will be in Huntsville cemetery, directed by Lindquist & Sons. Friends may call at the mortuary chapel in Ogden Thursday afternoon and evening and Friday until eleven fifteen a.m. then at the ward chapel one half hour prior to services."
