Earl B Coker, age 88, of Murray County, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Advent Gordon Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Timms Coker; parents, John and Ida Elrod Coker; brothers and sisters in law, Noel Coker, Roy and Katherine Coker, Ray and Mary Coker, Leon and Juanita Coker, George Vernon and Margie Coker; sisters and brothers in law, Alean and Virgil Carroll, Louise and Steve Stephens, Hazel and Ed Ryan; brothers-in-law, Lamar Overton and Tom Stinnett.
He was born July 11, 1933, in Varnell, GA and in 1961 moved to Murray County, GA where he spent the remainder of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. Ordained a deacon in 1968 serving many years at New Hope Baptist Church then at Smyrna Baptist Church where he was a member.
Mr. Coker is survived by, son and daughter in law, Tim and Wanita Coker; daughter and son in law: Tammy and Garner Gold; grandsons, Wyatt Langford, Clint Coker and Cody Langford; great-granddaughter, Jaida Smith; sister, Nellie Overton; brother and sister in law, Cliff and Pat Timms; sisters in law, Myra Pletcher and Rachel Stinnett; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends at Smyrna Baptist Church.
Graveside services are to be held at Williams Cemetery in Murray County at a later date.
