George Vernon Coker, age 81, of Varnell, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at his residence following a brief illness.He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Margie Garmany Coker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Noel Coker, Roy and Katherine Coker, Ray and Mary Coker and Leon and Juanita Coker; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alean and Virgil Carroll, Louise and Steve Stephens and Hazel and Ed Ryan; sister-in-law, Louise Coker; brothers-in-law, Sonny Garmany and Lamar Overton.George was born November 1, 1935, son of the late John Harrison and Ida Elrod Coker. He was born and raised on the Coker farm where he eventually built his own home and raised his family.
