Joe Hugon

Joe Hugon, age 92, passed away in his sleep on October 26, 2021.

Joe was born and raised in Frankston, Texas on March 22, 1929 and was preceded in his death by his mother, Jessie Buck Hugon, father, Dolph Lee Hugon, sister Evelyn Brown and brother, DL Hugon.

Joe attended Sam Houston University for one year. He moved to Magnolia when he and his dad moved their portable sawmill to Magnolia after Grogan Mill burned down. There he met Eloise Brantley and they were married in 1950.

In 1951, he went into the Air Force and was a Tech Sargent for 4 years, where he spent time in Nagoya, Japan.

Joe and Eloise had 3 children, Joe Jr., Deanna and Billy. Joe spent the rest of his career selling automobiles for Lester Goodson Pontiac and Leland Lincoln Mercury in Houston. He spent many hours driving back and forth from Magnolia to Houston each day to work.

Joe was a true gentleman in every aspect of his life. He loved children and he doted on his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They loved him dearly and have very fond memories of playing gin rummy and dominos with him. He was well known for cooking a great breakfast and his large dishes of ice cream he would give them at night.

In his later years, Joe loved to spend time and dance to country & western music with his special friend, Opal Perry. Joe's legacy in our hearts isn't the gifts he bought but the love he shared. We will continue to honor him by loving our family well and not taking them for granted each day.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his three children, Joe Frank Hugon, Jr. and wife Nancy, Deanna Hugon McFarling and her husband Brad McFarling, Billy Dolph Hugon and his wife Renee. Joe has 5 grandchildren, Riley Hugon, Sydney Braiden Hugon, Brandon Joel McFarling, Breanna McFarling Beacham and husband Caleb, Brittany Rhea McEver and husband Michael. Joe adored his 6 great grandchildren Kaylee Rhea Beacham, Addalyn Mae Beacham, Charles Paxton Beacham, Robert Eli McEver, Luke Bradford McEver and Benjamin Joel McEver.

The family invites friends for visitation at the Klein Funeral home, 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia, TX on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 1:00-4:00. The funeral will also be held at Klein Funeral home on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 10:00am.
