Known as "Doc" to her siblings, Joyce was the third child of fifteen children born to Clate S. and Hattie L. (Rhoades) Harden. She and Ollie were married 29 years and they were both very active in their church and community. Joyce was P.T.A. president one year and it scared her to death when she found out she would have to preside over the meetings. She also served as Room Mother for most of her son's elementary school years. She always had a wonderful smile and was loved by her grandchildren. She was well known wherever she lived, and she loved people.
