Billy Alvin Harden, Sr., age 83, passed away on Friday, April 7, at Medical Center Hospital with his wife Eunice by his side. He was born on August 4, 1933, to Clate and Hattie Harden in Leesville, Texas, the twelfth out of 15 children. He attended Texas barber school in Austin where he learned how to cut hair. He moved to Corpus Christi in 1954 to begin a 54-year career in barbering at various shops in the community, retiring from Red's Barbershop at Six-Points in 2008. He also was the owner of Harden's Servicemaster services, a carpet cleaning service that he and his wife ran for some 30 years.
