Frank (known as Gordon) Meakin was born and raised at Teddy Kems Farm, Attleborough. He farmed there until 1929. On December 14, 1929 he departed Liverpool with his sister Mabel and arrived in New York on Dec 22, 1929, planning to make the US his permanent home. Numerous siblings had already made the US and Canada their homes. In 1932, Gordon decided he wanted to return to England and on Mar 14, 1932 he arrived back in Liverpool and returned to Nuneaton.
On June 6, 1934 he married Catherine Helen Crawford at Nuneaton and they lived at Hill Farm, Griff, Nuneaton.
At 80 years of age Gordon passed away at George Elliott Hospital, Nuneaton, the service being held at Bulkington Parish Church and he was cremated at the Old Crematorium, Nuneaton. Ashes were placed with family.
