Obituary
Jerry Wayne Shriver "Tub" age 80 of Williamson Iowa passed away peacefully on September 20th 2021 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines Iowa surrounded by his loved ones.

Tub was born May 2nd 1941 to Ivan and Hanna (Babe) Shriver in Chariton Iowa. He had 3 siblings. Larry, Garry and Mary.

After attending Chariton Community High School, he joined the United States Navy May 2nd 1958. He served his country for 4 years aboard the USS Cone.

After serving his country Tub returned and on December 24th 1962, he married the love of his life Sandra Briggs. They went on to have 4 children. Sheryl, Jerry, Cindy and Tony.

Tub Worked for the Firestone Tire Company in Des Moines from 1963 to 1994. He retired after working there for 31 years at the age of 53.

Once retired Tub was able to pursue his favorite activities of hunting, fishing, working in his garage and card playing and attending his grandkids activities.

Tub was an amazing Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. He never knew a stranger and was an incredible story teller. He will be missed by all. We know he will be watching over all of us in his denim bib overalls with an Old Milwaukee in hand and an ornery grin on his face.

Tub was predeceased by his Son Tony, his parents Ivan and Hannah (Babe) Shriver, his brothers Garry and Larry Shriver and his In-Laws Roy and Loise Briggs.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Sandy. His sister Mary (Terry) Thompson.
Children Sheryl (Matt) Garton, Jerry (Tammy) Shriver, Cindy (Willy) Amos.
Grandkids Casey (Dan) McCall, Ashley (Michael) Ferguson, Dillon Shriver, Dalton Shriver, Taylor Shriver, Dustin (Kelsi) Amos, Rylee Amos, Carter Amos, Tate Shriver, Corbin (Natalia) Wadle and Chelsey (Vinny) Torres.

Great Grandkids Briar and Remington Ferguson, Saylor McCall, Rylan, Regan and Captain Wadle, Olly and Tilly Torres. And Several Nieces and Nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday September 26th at 1:00 p.m. at the Community Center in Williamson Iowa.

Memorial can be made out to Sandy Shriver to purchase a memorial bench to be placed at the Williamson Community Center.
