He was one of six siblings; Perry C. (1815-1878), John M., (1817-1906), Catherine Ann, (1819-1895), Derastus Treasure, (1827-) and Minerva Jane, (1830-Bet. 1900-1910.)
He married Nancy M. Simons (b. 1830 in Tioga Co., N.Y. d. 1859.)
The Civil War records from 1861-1865 show he enlisted in 1861 at Colesburg, into Company A in the 2nd Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment. (He is often confused with his first cousin, John Jackson Bolsinger, (son of Phillip), who also served, as they are buried in the same cemetery.
A.J. had a difficult story with his wife dying young after nine yrs of marriage in 1859. Marriage does not seem to have given him children. He enlisted in 1861, was wounded at Missionary Ridge, discharged in 1864. Placed in an institution in 1883, he needed a guardian for his finances until he died. He lived with a nephew in his last years.
