"Henry Franklin Shanks, 90, died at 4:10pm Monday, July 1, 1963, in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Rolla Chapman, of near Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday at the Brockville Church with Rev. Carl Hall officiating. Burial will be in Brockville Cemetery with the Sessengood Funeral Home in charge. The body will be taken to the Rolla Chapman home on Route 5 for visitation from 4pm Wednesday until time for services.
Mr. Shanks was born March 26, 1873 in Macon County MO, a son of Joseph and Catherine (Sims) Shanks. His wife, the former Maude Frederick, died Oct. 27, 1948.
He is survived by three sons, Russell, Justus, and Clone; four daughters, Mrs. Rolla (Marie) Chapman, Mrs. Bert (Ellen) Price, Mrs. Thomas (Hazel) Williams, and Mrs. William (Cleda) Else; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lillie Chapman.
Preceding him in death were one daughter, two sisters, and six brothers."
